Nice Somethings

Has your teacher ever done something for you that was really nice-- something he/she didn't have to do? Do you think it made you try harder in class for that teacher?

My faurth grade teacher has done lots of good stuff. But this time she did something no other teacher had done. We were in the park and these girls were bothering me saying stuff. She came and said, "Don't be telling stuff to this lil girls go tell that to the pricipal and lets see what she says." That was the best day ever.

  17. Yes in third grade, she was and will be my favorite teacher because is like she saved me from being with a mean teacher who i know hated me, for that i try my best not to fail and not get stuck with the other teacher next year because she teaches smart students. I still got stuck with her the next year and she almost flunk me but i went to summer school.

  18. These are great comments- teachers usually decide to teach because they love kids. I am not surprised that you all have teachers who do very nice things for you.

Do you all think that most teachers take time to have good relationships with kids?

  19. Yes, one day Mrs.Masten give us work but I was to lazy too do it. I didn't think it was important . Till one day she made it easier and that day I noticed how hard she was working. I felt sorry for her that we were not even thinking of her. So that day I began working as hard as I could.

My sixth grade teacher always does nice things for me,and everyone else too.She always gives candy and treats to the people that do good on their tests. She is nice because she gives us candy ,eventhough she doesn't have to,and when she gives us the candy it encourages u sto do better on our test.

  29. Daniela,
Yeah! When I was in 4th grade. We were doing a math test, I wasn't sure what to do. But then my teacher was giving me a lot of examples and the answers, she don't supposed to give me the answers because it was a test grade. But when another teacher cam he was like "Daniela are you done?" and I was like "yeah". I was the first one who finish the test because the teacher helped me. but the next day I was paying attention to the other teacher.

  30. We certainly have a lot of candy eaters out there! (I love candy too!)
Teachers can also show they care by expecting kids to do well. It isn't always about making things easier, but about helping kids to do their very best-- no matter how hard the work might be.

  33. I want to know if bullies leran to be nice to others? because I get bullied. Can bullies go to a another school that is only for bullies?

  34. Bullying is NOT good and nobody deserves to be bullied. I find that people bully because they don't feel good about themselves and want to make other people feel bad too. You hold your head high and refuse to be bullied. I think you should talk to someone that you trust and tell them you feel bullied. If there isn't anyone you feel like you can tell, write me back on this blog and we will figure something out. I have never met you but I can tell you are a wonderful person. I am here to listen and help in any way I can.

  37. My math teacher gave us two days to do an assignment that was hard to do. She didn't have to give us two days, but she did because she is nice. I stayed after school those two days for help, and when she graded them i had a 96. I was happy because a 96 is better than a 70.

  38. Yes my teachers have done something nice to me. She didn't have to do it. What my math teacher did was that whenever I was going through a hard time of my life with my family. She understood me,and she gave me extra time on my assignments I cried in her shoulder, and she hugged me whenever I nedded a hug,I really dont think she had to do this she could have just let me turn in the assignments at the same time the other people did but she didnt so I feel really good about it.

  39. Yes, becuase sometimes my teachers stay afterschool to help me catch up. When they do stay afterschool it makes me try harder because they take their time to help you. Sometimes the teachers don't have to stay, but they do to help you get better. One time I was struggling on an objective, and my teacher said she doesn't stay on Thursdays which made me worried. After some minutes I told her that I needed help, and she stayed afterschool for me. For that reason it makes me try really hard.

  40. This year at Northbrook Middle one teacher gave me $20.00 so I could buy my lunch at the university of A&M.This made me think that she cared and that I should try and do better in her class because she probably cares about my learning. This is one nice experience at Northbrook Middle school.

  41. The two years I,ve been in Northbrook Middle have been some of the most exciting of my life. In 7th grade i had a teacher, one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. She did something no one else have ever done for me , not even my mom. When I had an accident in my hand they had to put stitches,so when I came to school I told my teacher what had happened. By that time I still had a big cast around my hand.So every day I came to school she helped me move my stuff around and the notes we took in class. She would write them for me, because I couldnt write with my left hand , and my right one had a cast. As days passed they finally took my cast off,and I was glad because I didnt want the teacher to get frustrated because of the help she was giving me.

  42. In my science class we were told to make a straw tower. Our goal was to make the highest tower. My science teacher told us that if we got the highest tower, and all of our paper work was correct we could pick wherever we wanted to eat. My group won. My science teacher didn't have to do that, but she did anyway. I think that made us work harder to achieve our goal.

My Spanish teacher reported to me that I was failing his class,so I asked him how I could raise the grade. He went home and two days later he came back with a packet of words and problems for me to do. He told me if I finish this packet i would be making an A. From that day forth I have tried my hardest to pay attetion and to treat him like the awesome teacher he is. I have not gotten lower than a B in his class after.

  44. My friend told me about this camp during the summer. It's a camp at ATM for an enjineering program. I had to fill out an application and it asked for a recommendation/reference letter from your science or math teacher. I asked my science teacher and she gladly wrote it. The camp sent a letter back and I got accepted with half a scholarship. As for my trying harder in the class, I think I try hard no matter what.

  45. My science teacher told the class that whomever made the highest straw tower could win something like McDonalds or something like that.as you no we were doing a project with straws, clay, and a marble had to sit on top of the tower for 10 seconds. As you know my group won. We chose to get McDonalds. She didnt even have to give us a prize. It was sweet of her to do that. She spent money on us which teachers dont have to do,But she did. I really thank her for that. She is a good teacher. She makes me work hard and learn as much as i can. It not about what she did for us its about what she always does. She is sweet and helps us learn as much a possible.

  46. My teacher is always doing something nice for the class. When she does these things it really makes me try harder because I feel like she really tries to help us understand the subject. She spends her time just talking with us, instead of just going home and doing her personal things. When we do projects it always involves lots of fun and sometimes candy. So that really gets me into the subject.
